Welcome to the OAuth API

The Apigee OAuth API gives you a keychain for authenticating to Twitter, Salesforce, Salesforce Chatter, Facebook, Flickr, and Foursquare. Thousands of developers complain about the complexity of using OAuth. Now you can easily authenticate in one consistent way across several APIs and build apps faster.

An OAuth Keychain

OAuth Made Easy

No two providers implement OAuth the same way. Apigee's OAuth API gives you a simple, common interface for multiple APIs by acting as an authentication wrapper for OAuth. The OAuth API normalizes APIs so that you can make API requests in a uniform way, skipping the OAuth Headache. The result is simpler code that works every time.

SmartKeys Do The Work

Apigee's OAuth API makes authentication easy by mediating requests to services like Twitter through an API gateway. The API gateway exchanges a complicated scheme like OAuth for simple mechanism based on token called a SmartKey.

Instead of building signatures and exchanging request and authorization tokens, you sign a request with a SmartKey that, just like a keychain, unlocks all supported APIs that your app invokes. OAuth API returns a unique SmartKey for each end user of your app.
